MK GO

For this project we were supposed to design a pop up shop to house Michael Kors signature handbags, small leathergoods, and travel/luggage. The pop up shop should be easy to assemble and can live in an outdoor or indoor shopping environment. Displays should prominently feature and highlight the iconic Michael Kors signature print.

This design won the first place in the PAVE's Global Shop Student Design Project 2020.
Traditionally this design was selected by the participatory retailers, built by manufacturers and displayed in the PAVE booth at the RetailX trade show in Chicago, Illinois. However, due to the recent pandemic show was canceled.

Concept development

After conducting extensive research on Michael Kors’ branding, we were inspired to incorporate the iconic signature MK logo, prominently featured on their handbag textures, into our innovative design. Our vision is to immerse users in the authentic essence of MK, creating a captivating experience that resonates with shoppers as they step into this pop-up shop. Welcoming them to embark on a journey into the world of Michael Kors, where style and luxury converge, leaving you captivated and enthralled.

Materials

In this captivating pop-up shop, the legendary MK pattern graces the exterior wall, skillfully fading as it reaches the sides, seamlessly blending with the surrounding space. This artful integration not only enhances the shop’s aesthetic appeal but also beckons passersby to step inside and explore further. Once inside, shoppers are treated to a unique experience as all the interior walls are adorned with mirrors, cleverly allowing them to catch a glimpse of the handbags’ back designs. Despite the limited space, the all-around mirror setup empowers visitors to examine the handbags from any angle without inconveniencing others, ensuring a seamless and uninterrupted shopping experience. Welcoming shoppers to a world of elegance, convenience, and effortless style at the MK pop-up shop.

Interactive Shopping Experience

A big touch screen has been installed inside the shop, allowing users to further explore the entire handbag collection in different colours and style more easy, and further order online if wasn’t available in the shop, ensuring users never miss out on their favorite picks. 

This device comes equipped with a 3D Imaging Technology camera. Users can now see life-size handbags through its lens, as if they were holding them.
